Namibian Slang: Namlish

Long learning sessions today, yet the information is already coming in handy.  I'll fill you all in on some amazing aspects of Namibian culture as they arise once I'm in Ohndangwa (where my school is and where I'll be living) once I arrive in about  a week.  But for now here are some fun, interesting, and curious phrases and sayings within the Namibian language


I'm coming now - I'm coming at any point within the next 24 hours
I'm coming now, now - I'm coming in the next few minutes to hour
I'm coming now, now, now - I'm coming in the next few minutes
...and what what - etc.
Bakkie - Truck
Kombi - Van
Robot - Traffic Light
Pants - Underwear
Hot Stuff - Hard liquor
Cool Drink - Soda
/Na! - Cool (the backslash and exclamation point represent different versions of clicks, with this its a soft tsa then na)
Bubbulas - Hungover
Puff- Pass gas
Tuckshop - School Store
Footing - Walking
